6 months later, what he thought was over returned to tempt him, to lure him into a false sense of companionship. The girl returned after the break-up with his classmate. The game of heaven has not yet ended. Fate has no intension of letting him go. The boy who longs for a soul mate thought he found the one who would listen to his sorrows. He has unknowingly been drawn to the girl. Letting her go was the most foolish idea he thought he once had. He cannot bear to keep his feelings to himself anymore and confessing was the most foolish thing he did. The only reaction he gets in return is the words “I’ll take it that I have not heard anything.” The boy could only pray that things were the same as they used to be.

Through the 3 years of poly, he saw the girl with different guys, each time his heart bleed less and less. All he could think of is that maybe he no longer feels for the girl. But each time he sees tears in her eyes after each break-ups, he realise he had never felt any lesser for her. It is just that his heart had begun to die off, he had subconsciously ‘kill’ off his feelings. He swears, if it is what it takes to protect the girl, he will bury and seal off every possible feeling he has.

Maybe heaven do has some mercy on the boy. The boy had come to the age that he needs to serve his country. Fate decided that the boy should get a reward for the suffering he has gone through. The one reward the guy had always been dreaming of, finally the girl realised the importance of him in her life. The time they were together was the sweetest time he ever had. He swore to protect everything they share together, even at the expense of the girl who once loved him the most. She had came back to see him only to be cruelly shut out. He did not realise that the sweet times together with his loved was only part of the plan to prolong his misery. Or rather, retribution has a very good way of acting upon humans.

6 months into what he thinks is a wonderful relationship, the girl finally confessed that while he does not has the time for her due to his commitment, there is another who is always by her side, giving her the care and support she wants to have. Once again, she left the boy with only sweet memories of their time. But unknown to him, those memories are the very ones that continues to haunt him as he looks back. For the very 1st time, he wished that he can simply forget everything. The overseas training was timely. He could leave his troubles behind and hide in a distant land for 2 weeks. After which he can try his best to move on. The thing is humans will never learn from their error until they are totally defeated.

3 months before completing his service to his country, he got a pleasant surprise. The girl came back to his side saying that she has left the guy. He could not give her the care and support the boy has once shown her. Thinking that he can finally stay by her side, he showered her with more care than he used to. All this only to realise that the betrayal he once tasted in secondary is much more devastating than it used to be. The only reason he received is that the girl has not gotten over the guy, so she is going back to him. She promised the boy she will be back sooner than he knows. The only last words the boy could say was “I may not be the person who loved you the most, but you are definitely the one I loved the most.” With that he continues to wait for the promise he knows that will never be fulfilled.
